We are going to compare the best apps you can make money from by submitting images of receipts. Some apps have a waiting list so get registered as soon as you can to avoid disappointment. For instance apps I have not been able to review are STOREWARDS and Shopprize UK as they haven’t had availability for some years it seems.
From worst to best.
6. ZipZero
Once upon a time they had issues finding investors so any images of receipts that was uploaded couldn’t be paid out. Now they have found investors and users who previously uploaded receipts must complete online purchases (to gain premium units) to release your money made from receipt uploads (base units). Online purchases give about 0.5% rewards in premium units. I have about £35 worth of base units and 6p of premium units. So, my base units are irrelevant at this point as it is all about making online purchases.
Positives:
- Camera function within app to take photo of receipt works well
- No points system, can see what you have “potentially” earned straight away
Negatives:
- The money you can earn here is low
- Double the work to earn money compared to others (upload receipts and make online purchases)
- I have not received a penny from this app and have used this the longest
5. GreenJinn
This app allows you to get money back from purchases of certain items. Whilst you cannot make a profit from this app it is a good way to try products you might never have thought of purchasing.
Positives:
- Pays out quickly
- Always has more than 10 items available
- Easy to use app
Negatives:
- Items are the same for long periods
4. Shopmium
This app is like GreenJinn that allows you to get money back from purchases of certain items. Again, with this app you will not make a profit but enables you to try new products or get items you already use for cheaper / free.
Positives:
- Pays out quickly
- Good mix of items available
- The items available change regularly
- Easy to use app
Negatives:
- Not many items available at a single time
3. Huyu
This app lets you earn money by uploading receipts from supermarkets. This app also sometimes has surveys that allow you to gain extra points towards your money reward.
Positives:
- Has best in app camera software to take pictures of your receipt
- Has surveys to gain extra points towards money reward
- Fast paying when earned enough
Negatives:
- Only supermarkets receipts can be used
- Surveys are not frequent
2. Amazon Shopper Panel
This app allows you to upload images from receipts and take surveys to gain money. Amazon knows how to do many things right as this app is a close second on this list.
Positives:
- Need only 10 different receipts to make £5.00 reward
- Surveys are available also to make money
Negatives:
- Time limit on the receipts, you have to submit 10 different by a certain period
- Allows email receipts
- Allows receipts from many retailers apart from the biggest, which is themselves ( I use amazon a lot)
1. Shoppix
This is my favourite money-making receipt app. Not only can you make money from uploading receipts and taking surveys, you can earn points towards money reward from scratch cards you earn every so often as a bonus for uploading receipts, completing surveys and quizzes. This all makes the experience very enjoyable and the points you earn rise quickly.

- Has frequent surveys
- Has frequent quizzes to earn bigger number of points if a selected winner
