9. Bother
A new player in the supermarket scene, the London based online store, has done well amongst the competition. Considering Bother state on their website that there are only 39 employees in this company. What impressed me was their introductory offers off your first shop. I did however find products more expensive than many competitors and no product deals such as buy one get one free. There are no chilled or frozen food options here as delivery is done by courier and in my case, this was DPD. It took 4 working days to get my delivery (got delivery on 4th working day) and I unfortunately had an issue with my order as I was informed my package was leaking by DPD but Bother replaced my items and gave me a Bother discount voucher for my troubles.
Delivery is free for all orders over £50. It will cost £4.95 for any order below that amount. If you live in the Scottish Highlands or Northern Ireland then delivery will cost £8.95 for orders over £50 and £13.95 for orders under £50.

8. Amazon Fresh
Amazon Fresh started in UK in 2016 and has gone through a few changes such as offering quick delivery time slots similar to their, now discontinued, service called Prime now where you could get household essentials, electricals, and groceries etc. You can get your groceries delivered within an hour depending on time and availability. Amazon Fresh has all your basic items and more but lack world food options that large supermarkets would have such as Eastern European, Caribbean and African dishes and ingredients. Amazon Fresh on occasion have introductory offers for first time shoppers. There is also your buy one get one free type of deals, although not a wide selection of products. Amazon Fresh requires an active Amazon Prime account.

7. Morrisons Amazon
Morrisons is available on Amazon and independently, so I have split their reviews as they are different. You can get items delivered within 2 hours I have found but maybe users can get it quicker. There are more items available than Amazon Fresh and alternatives. Morrisons on Amazon still does not have all items a supermarket would have such as a leg of lamb. Prices are comparable to Amazon Fresh, which are not the cheapest you can get. There are your buy one get one free type of deals, although not a wide selection of products. This service will be delivered by Amazon and not in a Morrisons van (that have fridges) so even though my items have arrived frozen there is potential if the delivery is delayed your items will not be as fresh. It is not clear, but it looks like you require an Amazon Prime account to order through this service.

Getir was established in Istanbul in 2015 and launched in the UK in 2021. I believe their selling point is their superfast delivery speeds. After ordering you barely have time to make a cup of tea before your door bell is ringing with your order. Getir have the best introductory offers I have seen from any supermarket. This store has the least variety of products available. There is no buy one get one free type offers but there are constant discount promotion offers available and these change I have found depending the time of day you open the app.
Delivery fee varies from £0 – £2.99 depending on where you live and the price of your basket.

5. Morrisons
Morrisons pay Ocado to access Ocado’s technology, software and expertise for their own online grocery shopping service. Morrisons have a wide range of products available that you would expect any large supermarket to stock. Has good introductory offers and your usual buy one get one free deals. I find I do not trust Morrison own branded products to deliver quality. For example, for me the Morrisons Still Spring water has a taste I am not fond off. When ordering the earliest delivery slot is usually at least 2 days away when I attempt to order.

Ocado is an online only supermarket which used to have a partnership with Waitrose and now with Marks and Spencer. Ocado has always had a brilliant introductory offer for new users and your usual supermarket BOGOF deals. Ocado has my favourite own branded food in Marks and Spencer’s, I feel the quality is worth the extra cost for Marks and Spencer items. If you order early enough you can get your order on the same day or next.

3. Sainsburys
Sainsburys the second largest chain in the UK have been around since 1869. Sainsburys has a wide range of products available that you would expect any large supermarket to stock. Has good introductory offers and your usual buy one get one free deals. I find Sainsburys products general slightly more expensive than Asda and Teso. Also, Sainsburys own brand products do not taste as nice as Asda’s or Tesco. I tend to find Sainsburys bakery section to have tastier goodies and bread generally but I find it is hit and miss with any supermarket store. Order by 11pm for next day delivery.

2. Asda
Asda has had more owners than it’s rivals in recent years but the supermarket is still strong. I find Asda can be hit and miss with its introductory offers but one can argue it’s is their on going continued customers they may be more focused on as I find Asda products well priced and of good quality. I find their world foods product selection in particular very good. I love to try different foods and Asda is a good place to explore. Same day delivery is available at an additional cost sometimes.
Delivery cost on average £2.50. You are able to buy a product called delivery pass which enables you to have priority on delivery slots and free collection on delivery the next day. 1. Tesco
Tesco the market leader of groceries in the UK and the ninth-largest in the world measured by revenues. Tesco is my personal favourite even though their introductory offers are usually the fewest (probably concentrating on retaining customers as Tesco is already number one in UK). At the time of writing, I can see there are offers for using the Woosh service for the first time though. This is their own fast delivery brand to rival Amazon and Getir. This service is to deliver within 60 mins. For their standard delivery service, slots are usually available two days away. The selection of foods available is enormous from Japanese, Indian, Eastern European, Caribbean and African. They are well priced too (at the time of writing they did not have the 6 pack Heinz Baked Beans as an option but I know it is the same price as Asda and Sainburys). I do love the quality of Tesco branded items also. What is a plus is the Clubcard points you earn when shopping with Tesco. I have used my points to have time away at multiple hotels that has saved me hundreds of pounds. I also use Nectar points but do not get the same value and rewards I feel as Clubcard points.
